For many years New Zealanders have been living with the effects of increased UV levels because of the hole in the ozone layer situated over the Antarctic. The sun is very strong during New Zealand's summer and it is unusual to see any babies, toddlers or children on the beach without a full sunsuit as well as high SPF sunscreen and hats. You'll have a better chance of catching cats or dogs logging in on Facebook or checking out sites like Mozo than see kids out in the sun with little to no protection from the sun. Adults are also covering up when swimming, with rash tops (and of course our Ozone adult suits) now becoming a beach essential.
FOR CHILDREN

FOR ADULTS
- Ozone adult suits have a high neck with longer sleeves and legs to protect the high-risk areas (R Style). Shorter leg and sleeve styles are also available (C and S).
- Although the suits are front lined, our customers often choose to wear a sports bra for additional support.
- Other adult styles for women are the fitted rash top with matching bike pant or shorter leg sport pant.
- Ozone's looser fit Active rash tops are suitable for both men and women and available in Sizes S, M, L, XL and XXL.

- Ozone swimwear provides great protection against sunburn as well as being a garment you can feel comfortable wearing either in or by the water.
OUR FABRICS
We use a range of quality fabrics which are all tested and rated UPF 50+. These include Italian milled Nylon Lycra, chlorine resistant fabric and various New Zealand knitted fabrics.
Nylon Lycra is great for quick drying. The cotton blend fabric is slower to dry which helps keeps children cooler in very hot conditions. The chlorine resisitant fabric provides exceptional wear and durability in chlorinated water as well as being fast drying.
UPF - ULTRAVIOLET PROTECTION FACTOR
All Ozone swimwear carries the UPF50+ swing tag - excellent sun protection. This rating applies to all fabrics used in the manufacturen of Ozone Swimwear.
This measurement indicates how much a substance (commonly used for both fabric or sunscreen) can increase protection against the sun.
All our fabrics are independently tested and licensed by ARPANSA (Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency) to ensure that all the fabrics used in production meet or exceed the UPF50+ rating.
Fabric is tested to Australian/New Zealand Standard AS/NZS 4339:1996. 'New, dry and unstretched' is the benchmark used by radiation laboratories so fabrics can be rated on an equal basis.
A UPF50+ rating qualifies all Ozone fabrics for the UPF Excellent protection category.
An Ozone suit or set with its UPF rating of 50+ (the highest UPF rating there is) provides virtually total sun blockage, ample protection for all skin types even in the most extreme conditions.
Even covered skin is in danger if you don't know the UPF rating of the fabric. Many fabrics allow dangerously high levels of sun to make contact with skin.
